Introduction
Modern Standard
Arabic (MSA) is the written, literary language of Arabic. In its classical form,
it is the language of the Holy Koran. In its everyday use, it is the language of
the media, including newspapers, radio and television. MSA is also the language
used by literary and intellectual circles in the Arab world. The objective of
our MSA course is to enable you to acquaint yourself with the contemporary
Middle East, as well as serving as an introduction to the vast wealth of Arabic
